I waitress, so i am on my feet anywhere from 8-12 hours at a time. By the time i get home, i get charlie horses in my ankles (broke both of them before, and they get very achy) and my feet are just throbbing. I bought nursing shoes, and socks made for nurses/waitresses with special padding in them, but it doesnt help. What works to help? Im sure they will always hurt, i would just like it to be more tolerable. Thanks!
Best way to stop my feet from hurting?
i go barefoot
Reply:I had the same problem and i had to buy expensive shoes from lady foot locker to help my feet as i was a cashier and my feet couldnt take it, they were with heel pillows in them and they were so comfortable and made my feet less achy and less throbbing it was a joy to come home with no achy feet, they run about 85.00 a pair but worth every penny of it...
Reply:I also have the same problem working at the cleaners..I'm standing from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm all day.
For immediate relief: Portable foot baths with whirlpool feature.
I put some epsom salt and run the footbath. First I use warm water and switch to cold water, just to get the circulation going.
For long term relief: I take potassium/magnesium supplement which helps muscles in the calves. I no longer get charlie's horse at night (used to jerk me awake b/c of the pain).
For luxury treatment: Reflexology/shiatsu/swedish massages give instant relief to your achy lower limbs and actually lasts for several hours beyond.
