Are doing crunches on a bed safe and good to do?HELP ME URGENT!?

hey ppl:

Im trying to lose weight:Im not really fat like bad or nething and im not obese or anything but i wanna lose weight and girls still are attracted to me I am about 5-10 or 5-11 and I look like 6 feet when wearing my shoes. I weigh about 190. SO basically I eat special k in the morning-lunch wit fruits and special k bars and water and pepsi MAX or coke ZERO(both free of sodium and calories) and for dinner I have chicken sandwich with Chicken breast only and wheat bread and lettuce-no condiments other than maybe ketchup and oh yeh i use hot sauce as a marinade for the chicken and a little bit of salt and black pepper. ANd i also drink fruit juices like apple and orange but not a lot. I also walk a good amount these days-I do yoga and stretch and also crunches on my bed-BTW is it safer and good to do crunches on a bed? because my knees and back hurt on the ground. SO WILL I LOSE WEIGHT and how quick before seeing changes like my face being smaller etc. I plan to go gym.thanksppl

Crunches are safe and my friend is doing them. She looks like she already has a great 6pk!!

Your back needs better support, so a "mat" which is sturdy but thick on the supportive floor is better than a soft mattress.

Hope it works for you!!
Reply:No definetely not. You need to find a flat but comfortable surface to avoid concentrating muscle pressure on the same locations and therefore making you less able to condition all your core abdominals. :)

But bottom line is your are getting off your butt so good on you!
Reply:Hey, just a couple tips. First off, I know you think the pepsi max or coke zero is ok for you, but its not because it probably has a lot of chemicals and sugar in their. Also, I hope that you're not eating those same things every day, because you need to mix it up a little. Also, although crunches on the bed are more comfortable, they limit your range of motion and aren't as a effective. Try getting an exercise ball or something because you get an excellent range of motion and it is really effective. Lastly, if you plan on losing a decent amount of weight with just crunches, you better be doing about a thousand a day. Otherwise you're gonna have to throw in some other exercise such as push-ups and some weight related exercises. Hope this helps!
Reply:You can do them on your bed but you get much better results on the floor. The bed will absorb the energy and give you an extra bounce back when you go back up, whearas the floor will keep you straight and steady and really work you out much quicker and faster. Bed is ok, but floor/hard surface is much much more efficient.
Reply:i do crunches on the bed all the time but u have to do cardio as well!!
