I seriously need your help?

I am running on sports day on the 12th June 2008. I am not bad at sprinting but I want to be even bettter I want people to notice me more for my running style. So people realise I have potential and am not just doing it for the fun of it I want to be really good. It may sound vain but I need to know how to prepare until then step by step details and nothing too dramatic i'm not old enough to go on special diets all i have is running shoes the park and a little bit of money to spend. pls help me. I am doing 100m by the way

Best thing you can impress people with is the start, go to the park and practice the starts. Start, run 10 yards and rest and repeat. Look on the internet to find step by step pictures and descriptions of what you should be doing





Thats all I can advise and its the part you can get right that will look most impressive. The actuall running will be over too quickly for people to analyse your running style too much
Reply:Sounds like you have got it all sorted. It's great that you are putting so much effort into a sport. You don't say how old you are, but i'm presuming since you are competing in a sports day you are of school age. You could ask you sports/PE teacher for some advice, they may be able to help you. Alternatively a magazine called Runners World is really good.





Good luck with the race, its great to be competetive, but remember to have fun aswell!
Reply:RUN! i'm doing something just like that [sports day, june 12th, sprinting- idk, i might see you there!] anyway, just run a lot and you will get better.


till then, jsut run about 1 miles a day but each day at .25. when you get to 4 miles, go backwards to 3.75.

Reply:Try wearing spikes if you can. And make sure when you run you "Dig". That means you push of with the bottoms of your toes.





I have ran the 100m , 200m, 400m, and 800m.
Reply:ignore the people watching and visualise that you are the best then just go for it. Now just practise in the park with the music on if you got some and tell yourself to go go go. You can do it!!!!
Reply:Run a little bit every day to increase your stamina. Each day you may be able to run a little more each day.
Reply:Join a aerobics class, get trained for fitness first. Upkeep of the body is a must. Get up early, say by 6 am, freshen up, have a cup of milk and start the run in the early sunlight for the 100 + meters distance. Finish and take enough rest and improve it to just the same time of run only and start running again! Never do anything when you feel uneasy and take that rest!





Try to run with resting time in between as many times as you can in the morning and the evening! Its always better to have a company, a friend to join with you to ease the pressure and enjoy the pleasure of running! Starting each day to better the running time by taking the sprint more but not to strain your muscles more and get a sprain etc! After the exercise and after the rest take enough of water and fresh air for breathing!








Don't take any drugs like steroids! Take more of veggies and cow's milk plus low calorie food and beverages! Take warm water bath after the running practice! See the sea change in a month! Have always confidence in you and your will to succeed! You will win and would certainly impress the audience, the way you like!
