If you got brakes on all 4 wheels, rotors turned and rear wheel cylinders and fluid(to bleed) and you paid $214, you got a decent price and I think you are lucky because most places would have charged you more, like in the $350 and up range.
Reply:It is ALL a scam. They (repair shops) will advertise like a brake job for $85.00. But what they don't tell you is that this does NOT include labor. And usually the price advertised does NOT include BOTH front and rear. So when they're finished they now include labor plus parts, so you get a bill that is totally crazy. BUT they can legally do it. Basically ya got screwed. Sorry.
Reply:Wow, you got a good deal! Especially for a Subaru. I realize it's not the advertised price, but that's only intended to get you through the door. It applies to things like Geo Metros and stuff. It's a bit crafty, but I'm sure they have fine print somewhere on the advertisement you couldn't see.
Reply:You have special pads. The cheap advertised pads are for smaller cars. Depending on the place you have them done , you can always expect to pay about what you did. I believe you paid a fair price.
Reply:Thats not too bad, shops around here stick ya worse than that, they charge from $250 to $300 here.
