Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard. Who's better? It's a question that's flummoxed at least one England manager in recent years. Lampard has definitely been less popular, what with all the booing from England fans but there's also been a small Steven Gerrard backlash, mostly because he's always charging around the pitch like a madman. The truth is that they're both top midfielders, so let's put them head to head using SquadGod data to compare like for like and see who's the more effective.

Reply:Okaii no thats soo untrue, Gerrard is amazing %26amp;%26amp; so is Lampard...i think they are similar player like everyone says but there have been times when they have really connected on the pitch, there shouldnt be this whole Gerrard v Lamps for England, we should be happy we have 2 world class midfielders to choose from...i support Man Utd so not being biased....
Reply:Chelsea fans say lampard, liverpool fans say Gerrard. There are so many overated players nowadays because of the lack of quality out there. Why were chelsea trying to buy gerrard a couple of seasons ago if lampard is better. gerrard is a big game player and where does lampard go during these big games. nobody knows, but he seems to do a lot better against the lesser teams

Reply:Sorry but I can't agree, Gerrard is much better than Lampard. I don't think your stats are all correct either because I know I've seen more than 1 Gerrard assist recently because he provided 2 in the same game to Torres.

Reply:Well im not going to read all that as its not needed. There are lots of players with better stats than others, but its alot more than that. Both players are great in there own right, but I go for Stevie G by a mile. The reason being that Lampard has been playing for a great side the last 4 years with great players around him. Stevie G has carried Liverpool almost alone for a number of years now. Fans come on here and say Liverpool are a one man team...ive never heard that of Chelsea....that to me says it all!!

Reply:I would accept that Gerrard is the most overrated player in the world if in another wonderful parallel universe Frank Lampard had never been born. But he was. And he takes that title. He sits in front of one of the best defenses in the country, not needing to track back cuz he knows theyll do it for him, giving him the opportunity to shoot every time he gets the ball(explaing his 0.5% accuracy rate)


When he does manage to score, the chances are it is not of his own accord, but possibly from a deflection off a low flying airplane or gale force crosswinds suddenly blowing through stamford bridge. Its not for no reason that england are ****. Its cuz FL is ****.
