The first day of 2007. How did you spend the day? What made this a special day for you?

I spent my day with my oldest granddaughter, Meg. She turned 11 years old yesterday. Today we went and bought her a new outfit, new shoes and some "real" panty hose. She is getting her hair done tomorrow and is going to have her picture taken. Then we went out to lunch, came home and watched tv for a while. Then I took her to Petland and we spent an hour looking at the puppies, rabbits, mice and birds. She told her mom that she is really happy......which makes me very happy. A great way to start the New Year! What did you do?

The first day of 2007. How did you spend the day? What made this a special day for you?
Given that this is MY FIRST New Year's Day as an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree (FINALLY, the Long Term Single Parent has her two disabled children living independently) .. so I spent the day filled with QUIET, PEACE, and the real beauty of the day was because this is the FIRST TIME I was ABLE to ENJOY MY HOME by MY SELF!
Reply:i spent the day with two of my teen age grandsons which i havent seen in a while. we had a really great time. before one of them had to go back home to texas. a sixteen year old and a fourteen year old. it was a good day
Reply:I slept all day and refused to get out of bed until 4 pm.
Reply:I drank my first bottle of beer...





I slept in our aunt's house...





We got a new computer...





THANKFUL BECAUSE:


-we left the house after the new year and no one got in and it was not set on fire after all the fireworks and firecrackers...





-still a blessing for us cause we are still together, after all that we went through....

Reply:I met a friend, to see the movie "The Painted Veil", and then we had dinner.
Reply:I slept late, washed my clothes, and washed the car. Nothing special.
Reply:It is just another day at home but i enjoy my company so that is fine.
Reply:My kids and I slept in this morning. We played some new games they got for Christmas and read some new books. We went from a family of five to a family of four recently and they are adjusting to life without daddy in the house. But I think they enjoyed spending the day with mommy.
Reply:Spent most of the day with in-laws and out-laws, sons, daughters-in-law, brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandson and a huge table of food! So much for my diet resolution! I think it lasted about 12 hours!
Reply:staying home and saying happy new year to people its the first day of the new year its time to spend time with the family
Reply:I did my laundry and sorted through things to donate to a rummage sale.
Reply:I just cleaned my house and did some laundry. I figured having a clean and organized start would be a good start to the new year. I also went out and purchased a new day planner and a calendar.
Reply:I slept to 4pm and watch telly and just vegged out around the house. Nothing special.
Reply:Got over last nights hangover, made all the passed out people on my floor leave, then cleaned the house from the party before my mom came home.





It was special alright.
