Why is the general public afraid of online businesses that have a start up fee?

i am a marketing executive II. People keep telling me that if it costs even one penny, then it's a scam. i don't understand this. If you apply for any other job on the streets, and they tell you that you have to have special clothes and shoes, you go right out and buy them so that you can work at that company. Where i work, the cost is less than $100.00 to build your own business, and it is 100% refundable if you don't want to continue. Why am i painted as the bad person, and street jobs that make you buy special clothing and shoes are ok? They don't refund the cost of what you purchased to work at their company, it's just your loss if you decide not to work there. Starting one's own online business and working for a company are very different things.


An online business has a high rate of failure and it's hard to turn out a profit without proper time and effort put into it. Working for a company is less tedious and the money will come in anyway.





If where you work the start up fee is low cost and 100% refundable, there shouldn't be an issue of being a scammer. It's an issue of people who don't want to make the effort/take the risk.
Reply:because the internet can be very dodgy. If a company is asking for money outright without any services first it has a high chance of being a rip off. Its another sign of how some low people can ruin the internet for everyone else

Reply:Because for as long as the nets been accessible, rip off scams have proliferated, people have seen squillions of get rich quick ads over the last 20 years, thats why no one trusts em anymore.

I am one of those that if it costs .. even shipping fees.. forget it.


If your recruiting me into your "successful" online business then sponsor me and I will pay back the fees after I made some money.

Reply:BECAUSE there are A LOT of online scams .. rather safe than sorry... there is NO WAY any smart person will sink $100K for something that is questionable..
