Pointe shoe problem?
My pointe shoes also die easily. I use jet glue. It is amazing! Its best if you put it on after you wear them one or two times so you can retain the shape of "newer" pointe shoes. Just put it in the box or on the shank and it will make your shoes last longer.
Reply:you might want to try going to the store and getting another pair of pointe shoes that you can use until your other ones arrive. you probably wont find any that are too great, but theyll be better than dancing in completely dead pointe shoes. you could try wood shellac (sp?) its supposed to help a lot. ive never tried it, but i know a lot of professionals that use it and they say that it makes their pointe shoes almost as hard as new again. but i doubt their pointe shoes were completely dead before. you could try it though.
Reply:4-6 weeks is a long shot. you might want to dry some jet glue if only the shank is soft, but once the box goes, you're really better off trying to find something suitable just to hold you over until the new ones come in. what kind of shoe do you wear? and is there a dance shop nearyou? selling and fitting pointe shoes put me through college, i;d behappy to make some suggestions if you want to get a pair just so you have something to use in the meantime.
