STUDENTS ONLY: What new clothes are you wearing back to school next month, anything special?
I have a Zoot Suit I'll wear every other day. I even have a Gangsta outfit and even a 1930s gangster suit (a three piece suit) I won't wear the jacket, just the pants, white shirt (or colored shirt), vest with a gold chain to one of the pockets, suspenders, and a woman's garter on each sleeve (like the piano players used to do in the westerns and the Roaring 20s era!), plus black shoes.I don't know about a tie!

I spent my day with my oldest granddaughter, Meg. She turned 11 years old yesterday. Today we went and bought her a new outfit, new shoes and some "real" panty hose. She is getting her hair done tomorrow and is going to have her picture taken. Then we went out to lunch, came home and watched tv for a while. Then I took her to Petland and we spent an hour looking at the puppies, rabbits, mice and birds. She told her mom that she is really happy......which makes me very happy. Given that this is MY FIRST New Year's Day as an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree (FINALLY, the Long Term Single Parent has her two disabled children living independently) .. so I spent the day filled with QUIET, PEACE, and the real beauty of the day was because this is the FIRST TIME I was ABLE to ENJOY MY HOME by MY SELF!
